Hmm... not sure which category to place this in, or whether to name it "Ink" or something to do with smoke.
This one was fun! I finally have a powerful-enough computer to simulate something like this.
Not sure how many particles it was... but well over 75 million. I think.
Weirdly enough, I have trouble lighting things properly with Krakatoa. However, post-work generally takes care of the fiddly bits.
In case you're wondering, the original particles were brown.
As always, just note me and I'll send you the full rez wallpaper. Remember, personal use only. No reuploading or using for anything but a desktop wallpaper without my expressed permission.
So! What do you guys think? Does it seem fairly realistic to you?
Tools: Max/FumeFX/Krakatoa/AE
FumeFX Sim time: 1 hour
Krakatoa Partitioning sim time: overnight? Not sure how long it took. 6 hours or so...
Krakatoa Rendering time: 20 minutes
Feedback, anyone?
Only thing I'd suggest is that right now the smoke feels almost 'solid' not really smoke like. Looks more like what happens when you mix two liquids of different colours together, then smoke. Possibly making it more 'lighter' feeling and see through, almost foggier will help the object look more like smoke and less like liquid
